The socio-economic climate of Nigerian education has forced many students to stay a year or 2 longer in school; this has caused many people to consider private universities as a better alternative. Private universities have stepped up their games academically, from the caliber of teaching and non-teaching staff to the general style of educating their students. However, these schools can be quite expensive. Here is a list of some of the cheapest options:

1. Al-Hikmah University, Ilorin

Located in Ilorin, Kwara state. It was founded in 2005 and the current Vice-Chancellor is Professor Sulyman Age Abdulkareem. The university has several faculties which are spread across two campuses (Ilorin and Igbaja) in Kwara state. The institution’s school fees range from N103, 500 – N686, 000.

The institution was established in 2011 by chief Deji Adeleke, it is located in Ede town, Osun state and has over six faculties; Faculty of arts, Faculty of Basic Medical Sciences, Faculty of Business and Social Sciences, Faculty of Engineering, Faculty of Law, Faculty of Science.
