Abstract: | The lead given to initial training courses for local would-be administrative officers by the Administrative Service training courses at the Institute of Administration, Northern Nigeria, has been an influential one. Prospective principals from Kenya, Uganda, Tanganyika visited the Institute of Administration at Zaria. The lines of the Administrative Service training course which operates at this Institute are followed elsewhere in Nigeria, Ghana, Nyasaland. This paper draws attention to what appears to have become one of the most successful and renowned innovations in the instructional programme at Zaria and offers the lessons learnt to other institutions with similar responsibilities in education for administration. Appendix: Specimen Questions from the Administrative Techniques Examination. |
