Africa and the Debt Crisis

Text of an address by the President of Tanzania to a combined meeting of the Royal African Society with a number of other British voluntary bodies at the Royal Commonwealth Society in London on 21 March 1985. Subject is the problem of poverty and the relations between the rich and the poor countries within the context of the reality of a single world economy and an international economic system which is working inequitably and inexorably against the interests of the poor and which, ultimately, is inimical to all.
