Abstract: | The maps and materials presented here are only a brief survey of recent political changes affecting governmental administration in Grand Bassa, River Cess and Marshall. The borders of the clans, chiefdoms, counties and territories are not meant to show exact ethnic boundaries. Nevertheless, the areas covered in these maps include most of the areas with a predominantly Bassa-speaking population, and undoubtedly these changes will particularly affect local political life among the Bassa.
