Abstract: | Compares ten facets of colonial experience which both countries have in common, in order to provide the basis for a later, more exhaustive study of comparative colonial rule in Southern Africa. After this comparison the author analyses the regularities and patterns of behavior and interaction between the Africans of both territories and suggests a framework as a point of departure agenda for subsequent research.
