Abstract: | Research by questionnaires in Tanzanian secondary schools and at the University of Dar es Salaam was carried out in 1974 in a study of the integrating function of Kiswahili within the Tanzanian nation and on the spheres of function of Kiswahili on the one hand, and the local languages on the other.
