‘Poor governance, whose fault?’: mapping out LRF’s 31 constituencies

Legal Resources Foundation Trust (LRF) is an independent, not for profit Kenyan civil society organization that promotes access to justice through human rights education, research and policy advocacy. The baseline survey presented in this volume was undertaken in September 2010 to inform the organization on the needs and priority areas of engagement in the constituencies. The survey coincided with the country’s adoption of the new constitution that drastically alters the geographical delineations, socio-economic and political processes and approach to human rights issues. The findings report on: 1: population and households; poverty; HIV and AIDS; persons with disability; cumulative Constituency Development Fund (CDF) allocations. 2: social, economic and political issues. 3: human rights violations. 4: administration of justice (security / judicial / correctional). 5: marginalization and vulnerability; dispute resolution mechanisms; people’s participation. 6: conclusion and recommendations.
