Abstract: | In Ghana the general pace of development of special library activities lags far behind modern trends and techniques. This is surprising because library development in the country started with the development of special libraries. As a special reason for this slow rate of development it has been suggested that special libraries in Ghana have grown in isolation of each other, and in consequence, definite patterns of development have been difficult to establish. Certain special libraries are far ahead of their counterparts and are trying to maintain good standards of work. Here two libraries are evaluated: the Populations and Social Sciences Library at Legon and the Ghana Institute of Management and Public Administration Library at Achimota. Notes. |
