Abstract: | Account of the author’s field research concerning traditional religion, rituals and beliefs as found in remote parts of the Plateau area, where the three villages Du, Rorom and Riyom were functioning as working centres. There the author found excellent interpreters who were able to give him a full insight into their autochtonous religious complex. The Birom believe in the supreme being Gwi or Dagwi, and in other minor deities such as Gi or Chi, and Kwi or Gwi.
