Abstract: | The legend has conferred upon the dead Lumumba the status of a martyr. Among the rebel leaders there is a strong, radical Lumumbist tradition. They have enjoyed considerable successes by influencing the youth and boys as auxiliary warriors. Further on the author analyses the form and extent of external aid. According to him the psychological and magical aspects of the rebellion should not be neglected. The article ends with some remarks on the position and the recent achievements of Tshombe. |
