Abstract: | Several aspects of the continued reliance of Algeria on French urban planning are described, such as in plan formulation and the actual legal terminolocry used, highlighting some of the repercussions this has had on post independent urban development. Planning education is identified as the major contributory factor in maintaining Algerian reliance on received colonial or imported French planning legislation and practice. Motes, ref., tab. |
