(b) Roles of a loss assessor:

(i) They help to ensure that claimants are paid properly after the admission of liability by the insurer.

 (ii) They advise the claimants on how to process their claims with the insurer.

(iii) They help to handle claim in a way that the interest of the claimant would be protected.

(iv) They hold discussion with the adjuster handling the claim with the sole aim of protecting the interest of the claimant.

(c) Functions of the Chartered Insurance Institute of Nigeria:

(i) Determining the standard of knowledge and skills to be attained by the person seeking to become an insurance professional.

(ii) They are charged with the duty of discipline of its members.

(iii) Securing the establishment and maintenance of a register of fellows.
